On this trip you will discover the wonders of San Pedro de Atacama and its surroundings, visiting this wonderful oasis, with its magnificent natural scenery as the Valle de la Luna, Salar de Atacama and the Tatio Geysers. A trip highly recommended if you want to enjoy spectacular panoramic views, full of tranquility and comfort.

TRAVEL LOG

Day 1: Calama – San Pedro – Valle de la Luna – San Pedro
Your journey begins at the airport in Calama, 100 km. from the town of San Pedro de Atacama located at 2.450 m.o.s.l. After crossing the Atacama Desert, you will see the stunning mountain ranges of Domeyko and of the Sal (salt). In the afternoon, you will go into the imposing geology of the latter range and into the Valle de la Luna to admire the sunset. You will return to San Pedro de Atacama. Accommodation at Hotel Poblado Kimal.

Day 2: San Pedro – Laguna Cejar – Pukara de Quitor – San Pedro

In the morning you will make a very interesting archaeological tour, visiting the archaeological museum Gustave le Paige from San Pedro de Atacama, Pukara de Quitor and the ancient village of Tulor. Return to San Pedro. In the afternoon, you will go towards the Cejar lagoon where you can enjoy one of the most intense trips, with spectacular views of the cordillera of the Andes, and a special bath in one of the saltiest lagoons in the world (4 times saltier than the sea), an experience like the "Dead sea" where you float on the surface because of the different  density. In the afternoon you will return to the hotel.

Day 3: San Pedro – Géisers del Tatio – Machuca – Calama
On this day your adventures will begin very early visiting the magnificent Tatio Geysers (4321 m.o.s.l.) where you will see the fumaroles at dawn. You will take a picnic breakfast in the world's driest desert, with a beautiful view of the different geothermal manifestations surrounded by magestic mountains. On the way back you will stop in Machuca, a small village of shepherds. In the afternoon you will go to the airport in Calama crossing this vast ocher desert again.
